Highlights
I was delighted to speak as part of today's Council for Advancement and Support of Education (Europe)'s Working with Volunteers 2024 conference!
🌟Westminster Working Cultures: creating a volunteer experience with meaning and impact🌟
#Volunteers are vital to the work I do in #AlumniRelations and to ensuring the award-winning Westminster Working Cultures programme is a meaningful and impactful experience for all involved. It was great to share what we're doing at the University of Westminster, how I've created an award-winning programme and the challenges we've faced along the way. It was lovely to engage with others working in the sector across Europe.
Thank you to the Co-Chairs Christopher Shank and Emily Howie and Sarah Hobson for all of your tech support.

🙏🏼Gratitude🙏🏼 is a topic regularly discussed by our speakers during our Westminster Working Cultures programmes. It's such an important aspect of #buildingrelationships and I can't say enough how #grateful I am to all of our University of Westminster Alumni Association graduates and partner network for all of the time, effort and support they give to our students.
Last month in #Singapore, during our #WWC week-long trip, an incredible 29 speakers met with our group of 19 students to speak about their professional experience, dispel myths about their industry and provide advice that increased the confidence of our students on their own journeys.
Part 3 (final part!):
✨University of Westminster graduate Aileen Lei shared her inspiring entrepreneurial journey in the creative sector as a Founder, Creator and Storyteller. Hearing about the challenges she has faced and dealt with is inspiring and resonated with everyone. I loved Aileen's message of supporting others around you and that '#kindness will always get you further'. She shared some great insights on the direction of #AI, managing #impostersyndrome and the arts and culture scene in Singapore.
🌏It was fantastic to hear about the work of the British High Commission Singapore, setting a great context for all of knowledge we learned throughout the week. Students had the chance to get their questions answered about routes into and working for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, different roles in the British High Commission from trade policy to communications and professional opportunities in Singapore. A massive thank you to Alex Bamford, Deputy High Commissioner and all of the colleagues who joined us. Paul Broom, Lucy Turner, Anna Moscuzza, Carmen Broome, Mike Collins, Melanie Go, Charis Yeap Khai Leang, Taljit Bhogal. A special thank you to Raebekah Soh and Nina James for your support with coordinating our visit! And another special thank you to Christabel K. for joining us throughout the week and sharing all of your insights and advice with me and our group!
🌟We couldn't have ended our week with a better visit than to Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) Singapore! Ian Purnomo, Public Relations brought together a brilliant, diverse panel of colleagues: Warwick Light, VP APAC, Joshua Kow, Corporate Counsel, Privacy & Data and UoW graduate Sarika Mehta, HR Lead APAC who shared their experience in their respective fields, the highlights of working for the organisation and the importance of understanding the local culture which is critical to success. They also shared an incredible about of advice around #leadership, #personalvalues, #diversityandinclusion and #interviewtips.
🙏🏼A massive #thankyou to all of our speakers, our brilliant students for making the most of the experience and Ludovica Siniscalchi Bernabò and Margaux Bastien from the WWC team who supported with ensuring the trip was a success.
