Truly excited to welcome Bo Gai to Metronome, where he'll bring some pretty relentless execution to focus on a buildout of GTM Strategy and Ops.

The beautiful part about being early stage is that everything is on the table -- there's an over-abundance of opportunities, things to try or scale, and wildly talented people who are hungry to jump in and get their hands dirty. In a few years, I'll probably be trying to get a job at a company Bo has started, but for now we could not be more thrilled that he's investing his time and talent building out GTM here.

So much for taking a half-year break between roles -- I'm beyond excited to announce that I'm officially on the team at Metronome.

As anyone who had to deal with my 7000 slide decks, ugly PRDs or interlinked writeups knows, I am deeply, weirdly passionate about pricing and packaging. At Branch, I spent the better part of 18 months working on exactly that project, combining analysis, billing, product, engineering, GTM strategy, sales, and customer success initiatives. I came out with a deep and abiding belief that pricing and packaging strategy is one of the most valuable, most cross-functional, and most frustrating things that you can do for your business.

Usage-based pricing in particular has been a thorn in my side as I started to peel back the complexities it unleashes on data platform teams, revenue recognition systems, finance and billing teams, not to mention forecasting and quota projections. As I started to explore the solution space last year, Metronome stood out to me both because of the companies they'd convinced of their vision, the wild complexity of GTM motions they could wrangle, and the quality of the engineering team that has brought that vision to life.

Appreciating a product and deciding to make it your life are two very different things, but the challenge and potential were backed up by a team that I couldn't pass up. I've never felt so thoroughly challenged and supported at the same time and that's exactly the environment I wanted to jump into next.

I'll wrap this up by saying that in my early days at Branch, I used to joke with engineers that if building and maintaining deep links, not building their core product, was their abiding love, I'd be happy to refer them for a role on our team. It is perhaps fitting that I've taken that bit to its logical endpoint.
