GoGettaz Lead at Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)
Amanda Namayi is a dedicated Youth Advocate for Climate Action & Zero Hunger, currently serving as the GoGettaz Africa Lead at the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). She plays a pivotal role in fostering the growth and engagement of the GoGettaz Africa community, focusing on empowering young agri-food entrepreneurs.
Starting her career in Agriculture, Amanda joined the Agricultural Finance Corporation as a System Developer and progressed to the position of Executive Coordinator to the Managing Director. Her tenure in this sector laid a strong foundation for her current advocacy work in climate action and zero hunger.
Amanda's commitment to advocating for sustainable agriculture and hunger eradication has positioned her as a global voice, having contributed as a speaker, contributor, and moderator in various international forums. She notably led the organization of the youth Special Event Plenary session during the 46th Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) in Rome, Italy, marking a significant moment in the CFS's history.
In addition to her professional roles, Amanda has maintained active engagement in voluntary capacities, serving as Kenya's Country Ambassador for the Global African Agribusiness Accelerator Platform (GAAAP) and as the Regional Coordinator for East Africa for the Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network (CSAYN). She currently holds a position as a Board Member of the global Youth Alliance for Zero Hunger.
Amanda's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Information Technology with a focus on Networking and a Diploma in Business Information Technology specializing in System, Networking, LAN/WAN Management/Manager, both from Strathmore University. Her academic foundation aligns well with her career trajectory in advocating for technological solutions in the agricultural sector.
With a wealth of experience encompassing leadership roles at various organizations such as AGRA, CSAYN, and GAAAP, Amanda Namayi continues to nurture her ambition of creating sustainable and profitable engagement opportunities for youths in Agriculture, thereby contributing to the sector's growth, innovation, and job creation.
