I am a weather enthusiast. I have no training or certifications, but I have an immense fascination with weather. It is probably a deeply-rooted survival mechanism, having been born and raised in an area of the world where the weather can be violent and chaotic, experiencing all four seasons in the span of hours.

Weather is not small talk. Weather (and climate!) impacts mood, livelihood, security, stability, and more.

As a manager of a highly dispersed team in a fully remote company, you'll hear me talk about the weather. We don't have an opportunity like co-located, in-office coworkers to experience the same weather and adopt that mutual understanding, that shared experience during the commute.

I woke up to tons of messages from friends and coworkers (current and former!) near and far because the weather in Texas has been dramatic.

If you manage highly dispersed, remote teams, do you give your reports an opportunity to discuss the weather? June 1 marks the start of hurricane season, and NOAA predicts an above-normal 2024 Atlantic hurricane season. Start June with a new habit: Ask about the weather.

Hey current Trinity University CS students!

Look what I found, a DevRel internship - https://lnkd.in/d7YvYEeF

I don’t work for Slack, but the role looks like a great mix of SDK and community work.

DevRel internships are rare but such a great opportunity to explore regardless of what your career goals are.
