Highlights
Greetings from Austin! State capital of Texas and Land of Perpetual Construction. 😎 The heat and the traffic are no joke, but the HUB Connection Forum was AWESOME. Hosted by the Texas Lottery Commission and Texas Workforce Commission, this event taught me so much that I can leverage to build better programming for clients of the eqALL Business Solutions team. Special thanks to Maya Ingram for being my contracting guru and to the team at Structure Tone for taking so much time to answer my questions.
It has taken me WEEKS to post this because I had to process that I was in the same room with these two dudes at the same time (finally!) who have been so excellent to me.
Michael Sherrod is one of my favorite people in the whole darn galaxy. I have a team of Horned Frog alumni assigned to just make sure my parents don’t find out where he ranks on the list.
Trey Bowles is a treasure that I found through The DEC Network in the dark times of 2020 who STILL for some reason takes my calls and supports me through thick and thin.
I am a very lucky girl. And I know that. Notes for you:
1️⃣ Recognize when the Universe does you a solid and puts someone awesome in your path. 2️⃣ Take them up on their offer to help. These folks ain’t bored; they are offering on purpose. 3️⃣ Learn from them - and take notes! - so you can be that person to someone else you meet down the line.
Let’s go build this ecosystem, people!
