Amer Melhem is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the field of healthcare, public health, and crisis management. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Aleppo, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Public Health from the University of Liverpool.

Throughout his career, Amer has held key roles in prestigious organizations. Currently, he serves as the Security and Crisis Management Coordinator at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Prior to this position, he has held various roles at ICRC, including Field Coordinator, Head of Mission, and Cooperation Delegate. Additionally, he has served as the Head of Disaster Management Division at Qatar Red Crescent and held positions at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent as a Disaster Management Coordinator.
