Amirmahdi Honardoost is a dedicated researcher with over 6 years of experience in the design, fabrication, and characterization of photonic integrated devices and circuits. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida with a specialization in thin-film lithium niobate devices and nonlinear optical frequency converters. During his academic journey, he has been affiliated with reputable institutions such as CREOL at UCF and imec USA, where he honed his skills in the field of photonics. Currently, as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, he is focusing on developing MEMS-based silicon photonic optical switches. Amirmahdi possesses extensive cleanroom work experience in facilities such as Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley, and Nanofabrication Facility at CREOL, UCF, among others. His expertise spans a wide range of micro/nano-fabrication equipment and processes, including optical lithography, chemical vapor deposition systems, thin-film evaporators, etching systems, and microscopy tools. He is proficient in simulation software like COMSOL Multiphysics, Lumerical, and MATLAB, showcasing his strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
