I’m happy to share that I can now add Mellon Fellow to my CV!
As a fellow of the Mellon Initiative for Inclusive Faculty Excellence at The New School, I will work on a unique research project based in the humanities, social sciences, or public policy concerned with the ways structural inequality–intersecting structures of social, political, and economic power–shape social and economic relations, culture, and daily life.
My focus: a semi-autobiographical, historical narrative film series that explores America's sordid affair with Haiti, as told through the lives of five generations of Haitian women.
Some of you know that I've been working on this project for 10 years, which was also supported by WarnerMedia One-Fifty (WarnerMedia) in 2021. So I'm so excited to see the project deepen through historical research via this Mellon fellowship, and can't wait to deliver the foundation for the first film in 2025!
