Amy Koshoffer
Assistant Director of Research and Data Services at University of Cincinnati
Amy Koshoffer is the Assistant Director at Research and Data Services at UC Libraries, University of Cincinnati. In this role, she leads the strategic initiatives of the Research Labs @ GMP and the UC Libraries Research and Data Services Team. She specializes in research data services, with a focus on data management services and related instruction and support. Amy designs educational programs tailored to the UC research community's requirements, including workshops on Geographic Information Systems, data management, preservation, Data Management Plans, Spreadsheet best practices, researcher impact, and Open Science Framework collaboration.
Amy Koshoffer has actively contributed to enhancing the academic landscape through her involvement in multiple projects and committees. She was a pivotal member of the early adopter working group for the UC Libraries institutional repository, Scholar@UC, aimed at unifying the UC research community. Additionally, Amy serves on diverse teams dedicated to implementing tools and initiatives supporting the research process, such as electronic lab notebooks promotion, ORCID pilot projects, and Research Data Management task forces. Her work also extends to backing Open Science and Research Reproducibility efforts.
Amy Koshoffer's educational background is rich and comprehensive, having pursued a Master's Degree in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) at Kent State University, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematics at the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her academic journey has equipped her with a diverse skill set and knowledge base crucial for her roles in research and data services within the academic setting.
Prior to her current position as Assistant Director, Amy held various key roles at the University of Cincinnati, including Science Informationist, Senior Research Assistant in Dermatology, Research Assistant I in Cell Biology, and Research Assistant I. Her commitment to education and community service is evident through her past experience as a Math and Science Teacher with the Peace Corps, further showcasing her dedication to learning and knowledge dissemination across different platforms.
