Highlights
A great roundtable discussion on "the Future of MassSave Incentives" hosted by Built Environment Plus and facilitated by leaders from Eversource and National Grid. Most interesting to me was the discussion that highlighted how small rebate incentives are relative to the total costs of decarbonization projects, using real anonymized data contributed by roundtable participants.
How will we speed up decarbonization of existing buildings if the costs are out of reach for most building owners, even when waiting to replace systems at the end of their natural life or when building codes require upgrades?
How often does a panel start with five women each saying how they love their work? And then, how often do panelists listen to each other, build on each other, and amplify each other in real time - particularly on topics like overcoming professional barriers, mentoring, addressing male bias in real time, and protecting oneself from burnout?
Last night's "Women Shaping the Agenda" panel hosted by New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) was a real world example of how important it is, and how effective it is, when women leaders collaborate to create change.
