The pursuit of deeper knowledge in her field led Ana to return to school in 2004, enrolling in a Master of Arts in Interaction Design at the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea. It was during this transformative experience that she began exploring the intersection of personal space and technology in a rapidly connected world, a theme she had initiated during her invaluable internship at Nokia Technology Platforms in Helsinki.
Ana's time at IDEO was particularly influential, where she was tasked with designing the first continuous blood monitoring device for Bayer. This innovative device, the CONTOUR®NEXT LINK Meter, was groundbreaking in that it wirelessly transmitted blood glucose test results to a compatible Medtronic insulin pump—demonstrating Ana's ability to blend user-centered design with cutting-edge technology.
Before taking on her current role at Google, Ana continued to build her expertise at Nokia Design. Here, she led the design efforts for young, hyper-social emerging markets in Africa, India, and China, while also serving as the team lead for several core applications and services targeting S40 and Asha series devices.
