Ana-Maria Oproescu is a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, focusing on research that has the potential to help treat neurological disorders.14 Born with spina bifida and tethered cord, her personal experiences inspired her fascination with neuroscience and her career path in STEM.1
