I had the honor of launching Rowe Elementary School back in 2008 alongside some of the most talented teachers and leaders I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with and in service of 156 students in grades K-2 whose families had made one simple choice - and that was to exercise their power to choose a right fit school for their child! Our mission was inspirational and simple at the same time - to instill in scholars and families the belief in their ability to succeed in college and in life by delivering a rigorous academic program while developing social and emotional skills. The journey wasn’t easy - we had a last minute need to apply for a new charter months before the first day of school and our initial facility plan fell through resulting in our need to incubate on a 2nd floor hallway of a neighboring high school for our first year. Yet one thing remained true that year - there was an unwavering sense of belief and conviction that manifested itself in the actions and behaviors of students, educators, staff, and families that reflected our core values of #Pride, #Success, and #Honor. We were crazy enough to believe that our students would excel and that the classes of #2024, #2025, and #2026 would become reality one day.

Conditions in our schools today aren’t any easier. They are, in fact, harder and more complex. But, one thing remains true- children win when we center them in our decisions. It takes endurance and partnership. But the prize is so rewarding - not for us the adults, but for the children who grow up to be the adults they were designed to be and the generations that will follow them!

Here’s to two of our Rowe college graduates who dared to believe in their potential, who have now pushed through many of life’s challenges, and who have built so many champions and advocates along the way!

We are proud of the Class of 2024!
