LVMH, the multinational conglomerate known for its luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and GIVENCHY, is taking a remarkable step towards environmental sustainability. The company has committed to reducing its #globalwaterconsumption by 30% by 2030, showcasing its dedication to responsible resource management.
Water plays a crucial role in LVMH's activities, from the production of wine, spirits, perfumes, and cosmetics to the creation of raw materials for ready-to-wear and leather goods. Recognizing the pressing need for action, LVMH aims to address the staggering water consumption of the global textile industry, which stands at a staggering 93 billion cubic meters annually.
Already, some of LVMH's brands, such as Hennessy and Loro Piana, have achieved impressive water conservation results, reducing their consumption by 25% since 2019. LVMH plans to extend its water preservation efforts to all 75 of its prestigious houses and promote #regenerativeagriculture practices among its suppliers.
By enhancing measurement, adopting efficient technologies for water reuse, and minimizing water usage in manufacturing processes, LVMH aims to achieve its water conservation objectives. This commitment is part of the company's comprehensive Life 360 environmental program, which prioritizes circularity, traceability, biodiversity, and climate preservation.
