Attended a CFO networking event cum product demo for Happay (the expense/payment tool recently acquired by CRED). I quite liked the format of case studies/learning from fellow peers, and making new connections. They had relevant content to the audience, added value without being too 'salesy' and provided some swag as well(unexpectedly).

Learnings

  1. The difficulty of rebranding: I knew them as a prepaid card solution but they have really done a great product evolution since then which was not evident to me atleast
  2. The need of listening to customers-reports like missed discounts or not taking the cheapest flight
  3. Strategic external affairs-engaging with government on potential cashless solutions to benefit the whole T&E industry
  4. Selling to the right audience: They customized a pitch to CFOs rather than the usual HR/Admin audience they may be using.
  5. Social Proof: Their invite had the list of people who had pre-accepted, so did let me agree to attend a Friday morning meeting!

A friend in a fintech startup is looking for a consulting health insurance actuary, ideally with experience in the Indian market to help price and underwrite an upoming product. Please recommend if you know anyone #experience #healthinsurance Update: We would ideally like individuals or small firms at this point, since Big4/MNC firms could be less agile as necessary for this friend. But happy to engage especially if connections can personally vouch for the person(feel free to DM as well)
