Wow y’all, 150+ volunteers showed up to provide mentorship and support at the Career Growth Hub at the 10th annual Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) conference in Nashville!
If my numbers add up correctly, these folks helped over 700+ conference participants get a career boost with resume review, mock interviews, general career conversations, and FREE professional headshots.
Thank you to everyone who participated, both as someone #giving and as someone #receiving career support.
We’d love to hear your stories about how this affected you! Please share in the comments below, or ping me for the link to the survey 🙏🏼

Please join me in expressing gratitude to the WiCyS Career Growth Hub Planning and Operations Committees for another great year at the Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) conference in Nashville!
The Planning Committee (myself, Terri Johnson Julia Costin Michelle Lindblom ) spent the better part of a year getting everything ready for the conference where we provide the following services to conference participants:
- Resume Review
- Mock Interviews
- Career Conversations
- Free Professional Headshots
- Printer services so folks can update their resume with the new feedback in time to take to the Career Fair
New this year was the addition of an Ops Committee to help manage the space on-site and make sure things go smoothly: Heather Ricciuto Kimberly Bertschy @devi bhattacharya Jason Craig Sharon M. Merle Rodriguez ⚓️
I’m proud to be the Lead for the Career Growth Hub since it’s inception back in 2019. Every year I am blown away, watching the WiCyS community show up for one another to help “Recruit, retain and advance women in cybersecurity to build a robust and diverse cybersecurity workforce”, and to do so in an inclusive way. Nearly half the conference attendees utilized our services, with the help of ~150 volunteers.
I’ll do another post about all those wonderful volunteers, but also want to thank WiCyS Staff Janell Straach @patty duffy Colleen Huber Cameron Mitchell, Quintana Patterson and the Equity Advocacy Committee (EAC) for their endless support!
