CEO and Founder, SimpliFed

Andrea Ippolito is the CEO and Founder of SimpliFed, a telehealth platform that provides virtual baby feeding and breastfeeding services.12 She founded SimpliFed in 2019 with the mission to democratize access to baby feeding support and improve maternal and infant health outcomes.12

Ippolito has a background in biomedical engineering and entrepreneurship. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in biological engineering from Cornell University, as well as a master's degree in engineering and management from MIT.4 Prior to founding SimpliFed, she served as the Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Innovators Network and was a Presidential Innovation Fellow at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.3

As a mother of three, Ippolito's personal experience with the challenges of breastfeeding inspired her to start SimpliFed.5 The company offers evidence-based, inclusive virtual baby feeding services, working with healthcare providers and payers to improve access to support for new parents.1

Under Ippolito's leadership, SimpliFed has raised $10.5 million in funding, including a recent $4 million round in February 2025 to expand their maternal care at home platform.6 The company has shown promising results, with 87% of SimpliFed patients continuing to breastfeed at 3 months, compared to the national average of 69%.6

Ippolito is recognized as a leader in digital health, having been named a 2023 Honoree in the Top 50 in Digital Health.7 Her work with SimpliFed aims to address the gaps in postpartum care and improve maternal health outcomes across the United States.6
