Essence Over Details
Think about the best wisdom you've ever received. It likely contains no details.
Consider these examples: "This too shall pass," "Know thyself," and "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." The best wisdom captures the essence of the message.
When presenting, we often overload our audience with details. Instead, focus on the essence of your message.
For your next presentation, try this: Summarise your main idea in just 70 words. This forces you to distil the core message. Anything else you include should reinforce this main idea. If it doesn’t, leave it out.
In a world full of information, clarity and simplicity stand out. Your audience craves a clear, concise message they can remember and act on. By focusing on the essence, you make it easier for them to grasp and retain your message.
Remember, less is more. Aim for clarity and impact by boiling down your content to its most essential elements. Your audience will thank you for it.
Have you ever tried summarising your presentation in 70 words? 👇
