Highlights
Yesterday, I had the joy to participate in a supervision session together with Dana Moldoveanu Brandes, Věra Kristensen, Hajnalka Szenner. As we embarked on our journey through structured discussions and shared insights, it became clear that the true magic lies in our connection and the exploration of territories that are often inaccessible alone.
I learned once again that structured supervision isn't just about following a roadmap; it's like going on an exciting journey where every twist and turn uncovers fresh insights and endless possibilities. Here are some reflections from yesterday's session:
📍 Flexibility within Structure: We discovered the power of following a process with flexibility. While structure provided a framework, it was our ability to adapt and explore within that framework that truly fuelled our growth.
📍 Concept Clarifications: Our exploration led us to untangle complex concepts, shedding light on areas where clarity was needed. Each revelation not only deepened our understanding but also opened doors to different approaches in supporting our clients.
📍 Understanding the Client System: Supervision acts as our compass, guiding us to understand the intricate ecosystems of our clients. By navigating these systems with curiosity and empathy, we uncover hidden gems that lead to profound breakthroughs.
📍 Navigating Biases: Like navigating through uncharted waters, we confronted our biases with humility and openness. Through reflective dialogue, we charted a course towards greater self-awareness, ensuring that our practice remains grounded in authenticity and empathy.
📍 Peer Learning: Each of us brought their unique perspectives and experiences, enriching our collective understanding and inspiring new avenues of exploration. Not to mention the camaraderie 🤗 . Structured supervision isn't just a professional obligation; it's a voyage of self-discovery and growth. It's about creating a space where curiosity thrives, and where the journey itself becomes the destination. I'm grateful for the opportunity to navigate this journey with such an inspiring group of professionals from the Association of Positive Psychology Luxembourg
🎾 Eyes on the Ball: A Lesson on Focus and Goals 🎯
I hadn't played tennis in several years, but last month, I stepped onto the court with one idea in mind: "Eyes on the ball." Surprisingly, I played with a skill I hadn't felt in ages. This simple mantra not only improved my game but also reminded me of a powerful lesson in business and life. In entrepreneurship, just like in tennis, it's easy to get distracted by everything happening around us—the noise, the competition, the unexpected challenges. But success often boils down to one thing: keeping our eyes on the ball. 🎾 🔹 Shift from Winning to Enjoying: Focus on the joy of playing the game rather than just the end result. This mindset shift keeps you motivated and passionate. Coaching Questions:
- What specific tasks or activities in your business do you find most enjoyable?
- Can you identify recent moments at work when you felt most fulfilled and why?
- How can you adjust your daily schedule to include more of these enjoyable activities? 🔹 Shift from Quantity to Precision: Instead of spreading your efforts thin, concentrate on delivering high-quality, precise actions that drive impactful results. Coaching Questions:
- What are the top three activities that have the highest impact on your business growth?
- How can you refine your processes to focus more on these high-impact activities?
- What steps can you take to eliminate or delegate low-impact tasks? 🔹 Shift from Reaction to Anticipation: Don’t just react to changes—anticipate them. This proactive approach allows you to stay ahead of the game. Coaching Questions:
- What are the most likely challenges your business might face in the next six months?
- How can you proactively prepare your team to handle these potential challenges?
- What resources or strategies can you put in place now to mitigate future risks? 🔹 Shift from Speed to Balance: Maintain a balanced approach in all your endeavors. Balance provides stability, enabling you to handle challenges with composure. Coaching Questions:
- How do you currently balance your work responsibilities with personal time?
- What specific changes can you make to improve your work-life balance?
- How can you ensure that your team also maintains a healthy work-life balance? Whether you're scaling your business or perfecting your backhand, remember to keep your eyes on the ball. Focus, adapt, and enjoy the journey. Success is just a well-placed shot away! 🏆 #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #Focus #Goals #TennisLessons #BusinessStrategy #Shifters
