Go Anywhere. Get Anything. Uber - a tech company with ❤️
It's London Climate Action Week, and at Uber, we're committed to giving drivers all the support they need to switch to EVs. Yesterday we hosted nearly 1,000 drivers at Uber’s landmark EV driver event, PowerUp London, with test drives, panel discussions, Q&As with Uber staff, and (my personal favorite moment) giving away a free KIA EV6 to two lucky drivers.
London is Uber’s global capital of electrification, with >25% of miles on Uber in the city being fully electric. But we are aiming for 100%. That’s why we announced our biggest-ever support package to help drivers switch to EVs, including:
- £5,000 for every driver in London not already in an EV
- Discounts up to £17,000 on selected KIA EVs
- Free charging for 3 months with bp pulse
Meeting so many drivers in person who shared such enthusiasm for the switch to EVs highlighted the real-world impact we can achieve by working with partners to tackle air pollution in the capital.
This is about making a positive impact on our environment and our city. When it comes to electrification, our message is clear: it’s time to speed up, not slow down.
