Highlights
We just rolled out our first enhancements to #MongoDB Atlas Stream Processing since announcing its GA in May. These new enhancements increase the global reach and security of Atlas Stream Processing while providing tighter integration with Apache Kafka and simplifying administration.
Atlas Stream Processing represents a significant expansion of our developer data platform vision, and one we are making significant investments in. I wanted to explain why.
We see developers increasingly needing to process streams of data while it is in-motion, before it has been persisted to the database. With Atlas Stream Processing, your apps can continuously query, analyze, and react to data in real time, materializing outputs into the Atlas database for enrichment and deeper analysis or to downstream Kafka consumers to power event-driven apps. This approach opens up a whole bunch of new use cases. Think fraud prevention, sensor telemetry analysis for alerting, personalized e-commerce offers based on the latest browsing data, immediate updating of vector embeddings for Gen AI apps, and many more.
What makes Atlas Stream Processing unique is that it is fully integrated into our developer data platform, enabling developers for the first time to unify data in-motion and data at-rest. They use the same expressive and versatile MongoDB Query API to process data any way they need, alongside the same flexible document data model so they work with data of any shape or structure, breaking free of the constraints imposed by rigid, tabular schemas.
We have a ton more coming over the next several months, so stay tuned for updates. Atlas Stream Processing is available to all developers on Atlas, so you can spin up a stream processing instance today and try it out. Happy streaming!
