Is Your Growth Dying from Misaligned Teams? ☠️ 1st Fix for B2B SaaS product, marketing, and sales execs 👇
Misalignment between your core teams is costing you growth, money, and opportunities.
The Problem: ❌ Team misalignment reduces growth and costs you money in wasted resources such as people costs, time, campaigns, and missed market opportunities and deals.
Why it matters: 👉 There's a growing recognition that greater alignment is needed between marketing and sales. For instance, marketing might over-achieve their MQL targets while sales miss their revenue goals.
👉 But little is said about the even bigger problem of product and marketing misalignment. This results in ineffective messaging, duplication of effort, lack of accurate segmentation, and unclear ideal buyer profiles and target use cases.
The Solution: For existing businesses, the first step is to reduce friction and wasted, duplicated effort.
Here’s how:
✅ Align Goals, OKRs, and Metrics: Ensure the activities of one team feed the needs of another.
✅ Empower Product Marketing: Product Marketing can coordinate communication, collaboration, data visibility, metrics, and programs across your product, marketing, and sales teams.
Changing existing org structures is challenging and time-consuming.
Product Marketing can rapidly reduce friction and maximise outcomes for established businesses.
We focus so much on our Buyer's Journey but too little on the pathways we build internally.

Canva just dropped a dope rap at their Los Angeles event and people are divided. This is a good thing and here's why. 👇
Almost everything I've read and heard about the event has lambasted it as "cringeworthy"
There have been lots of comparisons to Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer dancing on stage at the Windows95 launch. These are unfair and wrong.
This was a great move by Melanie Perkins and her team - and shows why they're winning so much
1️⃣ People are talking about Canva. This is a great thing and creates buzz, expands their audience and massively amplifying their reach.
More people will go looking for the video and story than if they've held a boring safe event
2️⃣ It was memorable. I don't think anyone is arguing with this and rightly so. People are talking about it and will continue to do so.
3️⃣ The rap was on-message with their pitch to enterprise buyers, specifically security conscious CIOs, while still keeping on-brand with their core creative constituency.
4️⃣ It showcased Canva's unique personality. Canva has always had a playful and cheeky brand and this fits right in. The rap was absolutely consistent with that.
So why does this succeed where Windows95 failed?
🔥 Canva's rap and event aligns with their brand and audience
☠️ Steve Ballmer's over the top air punching juxtaposed with Bill Gates awkward shuffling did not match their audience - IT professionals and developers
One of the biggest problems with B2B marketing, ESPECIALLY in SaaS and tech, is they're boring.
B O R I N G 😴
Canva should be applauded for not taking a safe route simply because everyone else does.
Canva understands their audience and makes sure they are true to their brand.
There is plenty other B2B brands should learn
