Andrew James

Andrew James is a dedicated academic with a passion for research in understanding pro-arrhythmic remodelling in heart diseases and exploring ways to reverse it. Balancing his time between teaching and lab work, he aims to make significant contributions to the field.

His academic journey includes a DPhil in Physiology/Biochemistry from the University of York and a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of East Anglia, equipping him with a strong foundation in his areas of expertise.

With a wealth of experience in renowned organizations, Andrew currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Physiology & Pharmacology at the University of Bristol. Previously, he held roles as a Research Fellow at King's College London, a Research Lecturer in Renal Medicine also at King's College London, and an International Research Fellow at the National Institute for Physiological Sciences, among others. His diverse background has enriched his understanding of different research environments and methodologies.

Andrew James has leveraged his expertise through post-doctoral research fellowships at Ciba-Geigy (Japan) Ltd and Kyoto University, as well as contributing to significant research during his academic tenure. His commitment to unraveling the complexities of heart diseases exemplifies his dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
