I'd like to take some time to reflect on my experience this summer as a Marketplace Developer Intern at Zoom.

I had no idea what to expect coming in - not only was it going to be my first Software Engineering experience, but I was diving into a very dynamic corporate landscape. Zoom had just IPO'd, they were scaling up rapidly, and focusing on groundbreaking initiatives far outside the scope of an intern.

I was afraid I'd be fiddling with the parameters of some archaic legacy database, or tweaking CSS values of a button ten clicks deep into our homepage.

What I found, however, was quite the opposite. By day two, I was working on my first chatbot (day one was just new employee onboarding) - a full-stack app intended from the jump to be published to the Zoom App Marketplace, available for all Zoom users to install.

Over the course of my internship, I was met with trust and autonomy at every turn. And when I demanded incessantly to take on larger responsibilities, I wasn’t discouraged - I was put up to bat. And Zoom went even further - they supported me at every step.

I couldn’t have had a more fulfilling summer internship experience, and for this I’d like to thank my amazing mentors: Scott Firestone, Thiya Ramalingam, and Zhenggan Zheng. #zoom #deliveringhappiness
