I struggle to describe how proud I feel about our little race team, but this weekend the level went up a stage as we had our most significant achievement to date. Having an autistic 17 year old racing driver competing against much older and far more experienced racing drivers does sound like a terrible idea.

At one point, we thought the season was over, the budget was spent and the engine was toast, but thanks to the kindness of those around us, and a massive effort, we made it to the race weekend with a new engine and full of excitement.

The second race was where things got exciting, because they operated a 'top ten reverse grid' and Adam finished the first race in 10th place, putting him on pole for race 3!

I've waited 4 years to see Adam in that little green car lead the pack, and it felt even better than I could ever have thought. All the time, effort money, weekends and maybe the odd argument all disappeared as our team stood by the pit wall yelling and waving arms as Adam did his thing with absolute style.

The weather was terrible, but Adam kept his head, and the wet setup on the car worked well and he did us all proud!

Where did he finish? You'll have to watch the video :-)

Tonight has been the last of the prep work ready for racing this weekend at Anglesey with the Type R Trophy.

In case you didn’t know, at the last race weekend we encountered a catastrophic failure with the engine where a rod actually escaped out of the front of the engine and made a real mess. We honestly thought our season was over as the cost of a new engine seemed totally beyond our reach, and even if it could be done, finding someone to fit it, test it, run it in between races just seemed impossible.

It’s been a massive effort with involvement from all sorts of people helping financially, supporting practically and I’m hugely thankful for everyone who’s been involved - this has been a big deal for the race team and I’m genuinely touched by the help we’ve had. Everyone in the Ads1928 Racing team have been blown away by how things have come together.

The car is now ship shape and ready for testing on Friday, then onto the serious business of racing on Saturday and Sunday!

The Civic has new coils, shock absorbers, brake lines, some new branding and a massive stack of engine parts and sensors! We have brand new vtec components and it’s just had an oil change after running the engine in on a rolling road. We’re a bit down on power according to the rollers, but it’s a new engine and will probably free up a little with time.

Car is purring like an angry kitten and Adam Parker is ready to make some noise!

#letsdothis #thankyou
