Andrew Stevens is an award-winning journalist and anchor/correspondent for CNN International, based in Hong Kong.12 He joined CNN in 1999 and has since covered major economic, business, and news stories across Asia and around the world.2
Stevens co-anchors CNN's weekday morning show 'CNN Newsroom, Live from Hong Kong' and has reported on significant events such as the 2014 Hong Kong Umbrella Revolution, the disappearance of flight MH370, and Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.1 He has interviewed many prominent business and political leaders, including Alibaba CEO Jack Ma and former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.1
With over three decades of experience in journalism, Stevens has covered key events like the 1987 stock market crash, the 2000 dotcom bubble burst, and the ongoing global financial crisis.2 He has also reported on social and political developments across Asia since moving to Hong Kong in 1993.2
Before joining CNN, Stevens worked as a senior correspondent for CNBC Asia and as the financial editor of The South China Morning Post in Hong Kong.12 He began his career in his native Australia as a correspondent for the Australian Financial Review and later spent six years in London as the economics editor for the Press Association.12
