Announcing the launch of Talent Trends 2024: The Expectation Gap right here.
In this comprehensive report, we explore pillars around hiring, flexibility, DEI, and AI, providing in-depth analysis and key insights for this year. Here are some key highlights:
Similar to last year, 43% of people across APAC are willing to reject a promotion to prioritise their well-being, seeking fulfilment and greater flexibility.
A competitive salary is no longer enough. While job seekers rank flexibility in working arrangements as one of their top priorities, employers often emphasise a clear progression path.
With 41% of employees using AI in their day-to-day work, two-thirds of APAC respondents believe AI will affect their long-term career plans. Organisations should consider upskilling and reskilling their workforce to adapt to this evolving landscape.

As one of the most established recruiters in Asia Pacific with over 30 years of experience in the region, we are sitting on a wealth of information in human capital.
We see our role as providing quality Insights to our Customers, helping to make sense of the data, so they can then make better business decisions around hiring. One area I have been looking at recently is how long it takes to fill a role in each market from the start of the search to the on-boarding date.
The APAC region is very diverse in terms of culture and maturity, and this is reflected in the enclosed results. Hiring into Finance or Business Support in Australia seems to be relatively fast, whereas looking for Healthcare or Property professionals in Indonesia appears to take longer. Hope this could be useful in managing hiring expectations. Aside from ongoing talent shortages and resignation periods, salary is of course a major element in negotiations, so get ahead of your competition for talent and download our latest Salary Guide 2024, to help reduce your time to hire.
