Highlights
As a few of you close to the family know, Andy tragically and unexpectedly passed away.
Andy was a true pioneer in the management consulting industry, laterally through his own business WorkVisible which also branched into Visual Thinking.
Andy valued every person he met, both professionally and personally. He believed that everyone has something to offer. This developed into ‘Leadership for everyone’, which became the backbone of Andy’s work.
As well as being a professional held in high regard - Andy was first and foremost a family man - loving husband to Jacque, and a hands-on father to Emily, Marcus, Finlay and Taddy.
Please feel free to share this post in memory of Andy.
If you would like to get in contact with the family, you can message Marcus de Vale and Emily de Vale.
What do 95% of managers get wrong about motivation?
🚀 Teresa Amabile & Steven Kramers research revealed "that the best way to motivate people day in, day out, is by facilitating progress, even small wins"
🤕 Many managers ranked "supporting progress" dead last in a list of motivating factors.
❤️ In fact, it creates a positive feedback cycle that's part of what Amabile and Kramer call the "progress loop" that enhances inner work life and has a huge positive impact on personal working lives, and performance.
The sketchnote is from a quick talk we gave on a couple of the the many brilliant messages from their book "the Progress Principle" as part of a client workshop.
