Dr. Andy Jagoda, MD, FACEP, is a distinguished professor and the Acting Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) at the esteemed Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Jagoda’s educational journey commenced at Georgetown University Medical School, where he obtained his MD. Throughout his career, Dr. Jagoda has made substantial contributions to EM education, authoring numerous publications and serving on several national committees focused on enhancing the quality of emergency medical services.
He has an impressive track record of editing nine books and authoring 81 peer-reviewed articles in addition to more than 54 book chapters. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge and sharing insights with fellow professionals is evident in his role as the Editor-in-Chief of the NLM indexed monthly publication, Emergency Medicine Practice.
Dr. Jagoda is a key player in various national organizations and committees. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Brain Attack Coalition at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and is a member of the advisory board for the Brain Trauma Foundation (BTF). His expertise is highly sought after, as evidenced by his position as a team leader for an NFL Neurotrauma Consultants team, where he chairs the Credentialing Committee for the NFL’s Airway Management Physician Program and helps coordinate the NFL’s Visiting Team Medical Liaison program.
