In my spare time I created an app that measures my enunciation relative to an AWS Polly benchmark over time. I started out 32 basis points worse than benchmark, which was significant at the 99.9% level. Since using it I have improved my enunciation to about 5 basis points better than benchmark. The rate of improvement is significant at the 95% level. The AWS costs are about $5 per month. I think there is more opportunity out their for AI companies to deliver apps that improve actual skills in real people at a low price. I wish there was more focus on that.
