What a night to remember!
Honoured to represent Vopak and Vopak Innovation team together with Marina Surzhenko at the ADB-DutchCham (Dutch Chamber of Commerce Singapore) Winsemius Awards on Thursday evening.
We were awarded the Winsemius Red Orange Award for Vopak’s ability to create value that benefits both Singaporean and Dutch business community through our project: the use of vanadium-based flow battery to support industrial applications. The prototype battery setup combined with remote control and system monitoring, allowed the system to be flexibly configured to serve a variety of energy load combinations and demands in a safe, controlled manner. This solution could potentially facilitate energy transition for existing industrial facilities/ecosystem and make future energy supply more sustainable, reliable and safe.
Special thanks to Ting Ting L. and predecessors from our Innovation team (Yee Kang Tam and Edwin Ebrahimi) for their contributions to the project and seeing the potential of this technology to support greater terminal and industry level sustainability.
Personally enjoyed Prof. Dr. Pieter Winsemius’ wise musings during the event on constructive discontent and what a hockey stick can teach us about leadership and management. Interesting food for thought before dinner commenced!

FINALLY after 2 long years (no thanks to covid), photographic evidence that I’ve graduated from Imperial College Business School with an MSc focusing on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management under the Chevening Awards scholarship.
Sadly, friends and family were not permitted to join us in person at the prestigious Royal King Albert Hall, making the actual ceremony less commemorative than it could have been. Nonetheless grateful that travel restrictions have eased and the graduation ceremony gave us an opportunity and reason to travel from all over the world to meet up in London once more.
Truly thankful for these beautiful souls (and more-wished I had more time to meet up with everyone) who have made my time in London so very meaningful and special.
