What does Women's Equality mean to you?
Monday was National Women’s Equality Day 2024
After several decades of nonsense, to me, it means 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐲 𝐎𝐰𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐬.
I did not get my MBA to become an Entrepreneur And - I'm super delighted that was the plot twist that occured.
An early mentor told me, "My income is too important to trust in the hands of others."
I was shocked, then impressed with the thought that underlies that.
Equality to me means, I am not subjected to less wages because of my gender.
Or, always having to prove myself and still being called into question.
Or, being asked to make the coffee.
I set my prices. I decide who to work with. I decide when and how long to work. I decide how to promote my business.
My earning potential, my worth, and my reputation are far too important to leave in the hands of biased decision-makers.
I love my clients. Many of them are raving fans. My earning potential, worth, and reputation are very safe in their hands.
I create my own Equality. And I work daily not to hold myself back.
