Angela Evancie

Director of Engagement Journalism - Executive Producer, Brave Little State at Vermont Public Radio

Angela Evancie is a highly educated individual with a diverse academic background. She holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and Geography from Middlebury College. She has also studied Alaska Mountaineering at NOLS and Portuguese at Middlebury Language Schools.

Angela's professional journey is a testament to her versatility and expertise in journalism and media. She currently serves as the Director of Engagement Journalism and Executive Producer of Brave Little State at Vermont Public Radio. Previously, she was the Host and creator of Brave Little State and also held the position of Managing Editor for Podcasts at Vermont Public Radio. Her earlier roles at VPR include Digital Editor for News and Digital Producer. Angela also gained experience as a Digital Arts intern at NPR.

In addition to her media roles, Angela Evancie has a diverse background that includes experience in law, photography, education, and environmental journalism. She has worked as a Paralegal at Baldwin & Callen, PLLC, a Staff Reporter & Photographer at Monadnock Ledger-Transcript, and as a Middlebury Fellow in Environmental Journalism at Middlebury College. Furthermore, she has served as a Compton Mentor Fellow at North Country Public Radio, an Educator at Keewaydin Environmental Education Center, and an Editorial Intern at New England Review. Angela has also contributed as a Summer Session Teaching Assistant at Phillips Academy and has experience as an Independent Journalist and Translation & Outreach Intern at 350.org.
