Anita Bay Bundegaard, born in 1963 in Tejn, Denmark, is a renowned figure with a diverse background in journalism, advocacy, and humanitarian work.

Anita's career journey started after her studies in English and Spanish at the University of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Business School, leading her to work as a radio host for the Danish Broadcasting Company.

In 1998, she transitioned to become the Op-Ed editor at the Danish daily, Politiken, where she made significant contributions.

Anita co-founded 'New Europe' in the same year, an organization dedicated to promoting democracy within the European Union.

Her career took an international turn in 2000 when she was appointed as the Minister for Development Cooperation, a role where she showcased her dedication to humanitarian causes.

From 2002 to 2006, Anita served as an advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, focusing on external relations, fundraising, donor management, and strategic planning.

Returning to Politiken in 2006, Anita served as the head of the editorial board and later assumed the role of Arts- and Opinion editor, where she led a team of 60 staff members and became known as one of Denmark's top opinion influencers.

Anita's passion for advocacy led her to become the chairman of Save the Children Denmark from 2010 to 2014, emphasizing her commitment to the welfare of children globally.

From 2013 to 2018, Anita held the role of International Advocacy Director at Save the Children International, showcasing her expertise in advocating for children's rights and welfare on an international platform.

Since January 2019, Anita has been at the helm of Save the Children Europe in Brussels, furthering her impact on child advocacy and welfare in the European region.
