On the occasion of World Biofuel Day, I had the privilege of adressing the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) , where industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators came together to discuss the resilient ecosystem of biofuels in India. The event was a testament to our collective commitment to transitioning towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

India’s mission is to build a resilient ecosystem that not only accelerates the adoption of biofuels but also supports her in achieving its energy and environmental goals.

Creating a robust supply chain for biomass by collaborating with farmers, rural entrepreneurs, and aggregators is must in ensuring a steady supply of feedstock, which is critical for the sustainable production of biofuels.

Organisations like Confederation of Biomass Energy Industry of India and Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Private Limited are working closely with the government, private sector, and research institutions to integrate biofuels into India's energy mix and advocate for supportive policies.

It is not just about producing biofuels; it's about creating a positive impact on the environment and local communities. By reducing agricultural waste burning and lowering carbon emissions, we are contributing to India's climate goals. Additionally, these initiatives are empowering rural communities by creating jobs and enhancing livelihoods.

India remains committed to driving innovation and collaboration to ensure that biofuels become a cornerstone of our energy landscape.

Let us continue to work together towards a cleaner, greener, and more resilient India.
