Ten years ago, I conducted my doctoral research on the barriers for women seeking the role of university President. In the past decade, numbers have increased (23%-33%) and we saw 75% of Ivy League schools appoint a women leader-unprecedented for their over 300-year-old history.
One year later, most of those Ivy League women leaders have left (on their own accord or otherwise). I'm currently writing a book chapter entitled "Is It Worth It? Critical Questions for Women Considering the Role of University President."
