Highlights
It’s unfortunate I have to write this post, but I, like many at UMG, have been impacted by the layoffs. First off, I am completely fine. The music industry is in a transitional period, and many, many people like myself are being affected by it. I am proud of my work and my career thus far, and I by no means am taking this as a personal failure.
My time at Geffen was short but sweet, I really can’t express enough gratitude to my now former boss Ray for hiring me. I think we made a dynamic duo and I am going to miss the team most of all.
I am not sure what my next steps are. I strongly considered going to grad school when I left Republic last year, and I am now strongly considering it again. I’d love to chat with any of y’all who have been and your experiences. It’s a bit daunting to be considering going back to school at the age of 30 but what is life if not a series of daunting moments for us to overcome!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out, I know these things can be weird and awkward, but I’m excited for what my next chapter will bring and I’d love to hear from anyone who wants to chat.
In the meantime, garden season is around the corner, so I’ll be keeping busy getting my garden cleaned up, and continuing to learn banjo.

This is a bit of an overdue message, but better late than never…
A little over 2 months ago, I left my job at Republic Records. I wish I could say it was a perfectly planned out and executed departure, but I’d be lying. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, and I am still second guessing myself.
My time at Republic was formative to who I am today. I started exactly 1 month after my 21st birthday, and I left exactly 1 month before my 30th. I’d like to think there’s something a bit poetic about the timing, and I’m sure those of you who know me well are rolling your eyes at my melodrama.
I am so proud to be able to say that I was a part of the Republic Stream Team. Watching the team grow from 3 people to over 30 in my time there is nothing short of a testament to the passion and drive of Republic’s leadership. Team work really does make the dream work 😄
I’ve gotten many questions from colleagues, friends, family, all asking where I am going next, what’s my next move. The honest answer is I’m not sure. I’ve been taking time to reconnect with my community, and of course, I decided to pick up a new hobby of learning how to play the banjo.
With all that being said, I am very much open to conversations as I figure out what my next steps are. If you’re inclined, please don’t hesitate to reach out - I'd love to connect.
