As someone who has faced difficulties finding quality mental health care within my insurance network, this article from ProPublica was really eye-opening. It sheds light on the challenges mental health providers face when dealing with insurance companies. Issues like interference with treatment plans, low reimbursement rates, and administrative hassles are driving many therapists out of network, making it nearly impossible for patients like me to find the help we need without paying out-of-pocket.

This isn’t just about access—it’s about creating a system that values mental health as much as physical health.

Thrilled to announce my latest #productlaunch from a few weeks ago: my marriage! Planning my wedding was more than just organizing a beautiful day; it was a real-world application of my product and project management skills. From aligning with key stakeholders - my fiancé, families, bridal party, and vendors - to managing time and resources effectively, the process mirrored the complexities of managing a professional project.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: A wedding involves coordinating with various vendors, which mirrors the need to work with different departments and teams in a professional setting. Ensuring everyone's needs and expectations are met requires clear communication, regular updates, and effective conflict resolution.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Unexpected issues are bound to arise, whether it's an unprecedented IT outage causing chaos in my guest’ travel plans or a last-minute vendor cancellation. Being able to think on your feet, adapt to changes, and come up with quick solutions is a vital skill in both wedding planning and project management.

Time and Resource Management: Managing a wedding budget and timeline is akin to handling project resources. Prioritizing tasks, keeping track of expenditures, and making adjustments on the fly are critical to staying on track and within budget. It's all about maximizing efficiency without compromising on quality - like stretching my floral budget as far as possible!

I am #opentowork - please reach out if you know of teams looking to grow. This experience has only strengthened my ability to deliver successful outcomes, and I’m excited to bring these skills to new and impactful projects.
