A little bit of positivity for today 🌞
So you've found yourself on the downside of a layoff with an unwanted amount of new time on your hands, and you might find yourself feeling depressed or stagnant because you're not moving forward.
So, you apply for jobs on top of jobs and submit an endless of sea of applications that seem to go nowhere, just to solve your problem quickly.
While you've lost one thing, you've gained another you didn't have before. Time. ⌛
Use that time. Develop a marketable skillset or find a new hobby. Learn Cybersecurity or join a Run Club. Maybe you'll find even something you love that will move your career forward faster in the long run.
"Always look for opportunity in the adversity."
Today, I had the opportunity to attend "Practical Insights for Marketers", a webinar hosted by Girls in Marketing and Semrush, and wanted to share a few of my learnings:
🔸 Rita Cidre is a wonderful human, and we all need a Rita. 🔸 SEO is based on quantitative data, but the 🔑 to success is to understand the qualitative data. Consider WHO your audience is and WHAT they are looking for. 🔸 The benefits of a solid SEO strategy go beyond search results, and can even inform business strategy. For example, if you are starting a brand that sells cat tee shirts, use the Keyword Magic tool to pull in only keywords with EASY Keyword Difficulty (to avoid competing with Walmart) and take note of what people are searching for. You might find "Cat Dad" or "Cat in the Hat" and think "Oh look, people are searching for those styles, which means they're in demand. Maybe next month, I'll release a graphic tee for men that says "Cat Dad?" 😸
