Annelise Barron

Associate Professor of Bioengineering, Stanford University

Annelise E. Barron is the W.M. Keck Associate Professor of Bioengineering at Stanford University.134 She is a chemical and biological engineer whose research focuses on the study and biomimicry of natural host defense peptides, particularly LL-37, and its involvement in Alzheimer's dementia.13

Dr. Barron received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1990 and her Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley in 1995.13 She completed postdoctoral work at UCSF and Chiron Corporation before joining the faculty at Northwestern University from 1997 to 2007.1 Since 2007, she has been on the faculty at Stanford University.13
