Annelise Plooster is an accomplished individual with a rich background in US public service, having served as an appointee in the Obama Administration from 2013-2017.

During her tenure as Special Assistant to the second-highest ranking official at the U.S. Department of Energy, Annelise traveled extensively, engaging in strategic policy dialogues with foreign governments on topics such as world energy markets, nuclear power, renewable energy, and energy infrastructure.

Her expertise lies in translating intricate technical matters into policy and fostering public-private partnerships to drive forward cutting-edge technology and global security initiatives.

Annelise Plooster has held various key positions across prestigious organizations, including being a National Nuclear Security Administration Graduate Fellow at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) Researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and a Keepin Nonproliferation Fellow/Graduate Research Assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory, among others.

Her vast experience includes roles such as Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff at the U.S. Small Business Administration, Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer at the American Wind Energy Association, showcasing her versatility and proficiency in various domains.

Additionally, Annelise Plooster has been actively involved in political campaigns, having served as a Field Organizer at the Barack Obama Re-Election Campaign (Organizing for America) and as a Press Intern in the Office of Senator Tom Harkin at the United States Senate.

Her dedication to public service is evident through her role as the State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council Coordinator at AmeriCorps VISTA- Department of Human Rights, State of Iowa, reflecting her commitment to empowering youth and fostering positive change within communities.
