Rare Bird             Iris Apfel lived to 102. She achieved international recognition in her mid-80s with the Rara Avis exhibition at the Met’s Costume Institute. She was the first living person who was not a designer to have her clothing and accessories exhibited at the museum. She didn’t live by anyone else’s rules. Her sense of style was bold, playful and all her own! The late filmmaker Albert Maysles produced Iris, a documentary providing a unique perspective on her life. Below are some of my lessons learned:   1)    You are never too old to pursue your passions. 2)    Mentor the next generation. They may be well trained in their craft but lack experience in the outside world. 3)    Everything today is interrelated. 4)    Individuality is so lost these days. Be bold, express yourself! 5)    Trust your gut. 6)    If you hang around long enough everything comes back. 7)    Be curious and have a good sense of humor. 8)    As you get older, you must push yourself. Go out into the world otherwise you just sit around and brood all day. 9)    For everything there is a season. #MondayMotivation #irisapfel #designer #style #color #icon

Carpe Diem!

Today is Carpe Diem Day! We often forget how precious it is to be alive and to embrace the simple pleasures in life that make us smile. Even if that means taking a walk down memory lane looking at old photos.

Remember the moments, cherish them, and make sure you tell those you love how much you mean to them. Don’t let more time pass. Seize the moment! #MondayMotivation #CarpeDiem #Smile #Play #sharedmoments
