Highlights
Start out for the right reason.
It seems like a rage these days - everyone wants to start up.
Look beyond the glamor. Understand what are you signing up for.
Starting up does give you meaning quite early. If you do something that you like, you will find it rewarding psychologically.
You love what you do inspite of the uncertainty . There is intense learning every day / week / month. You get to know yourself better. And most importantly you will likely not hate Mondays!!!
BUT all that will take time to translate into money. You will likely spend few years before you can get back to the level of income in your job.
Is that ok?
Answer that... Make sure you know what you are signing up for.

Last week I had an online session with the members of The Outreach Collective (TOC) where we discussed VC investments.
I used the Omega Files released by Blume Ventures to explain - rather over simplistically in Hindi - how a VC's 'dhanda' works. And how that defines what types of businesses are a good fit for these kinds of investments.
Here is a short excerpt out of that session of me trying to explain 'the power law' highlighting some parts of the Omega files. (Have used it before as well!)
Thank you Blume Ventures for releasing it. It helps new founders as much as it helps new & old VCs - who I believe were its intended TG.
And thanks Ankur Vohra for inviting me for the session. It was fun - esp. cos we had it casual (and in Hindi!)
