Having received a First-Class Honours in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia, England also studied Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has worked with several organizations, including the Dutch Polymer Solar Energy Initiative, Noyori Molecular Catalysis Project (ERATO, JST), and Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he served as a Graduate Research Assistant.
