I wasn't planning to post about this, but I feel it's necessary to say a final farewell to a company that once exemplified the absolute highest standard of solar in the industry. I’ll never forget the day Carolyn Humphreys finally accepted us in the SunPower dealer network—it was a huge milestone for us. After over a year of weekly calls to Carolyn, she eventually allowed us to become a dealer. At that time, SunPower had only one dealer per region, so being accepted was a big deal.

The photo above captures the moment we achieved Master Dealer status with SunPower in 2015 we all took a group picture out front. We received the invitation just a week prior, and within days, I flew my team to San Jose to attend one of the first Master Dealer conferences. It's a memory I’ll never forget—our team stood out in bright red NYSSF shirts while everyone else wore their signature SunPower blues.

SunPower has played a significant role in our journey, and while I take pride in that, I’m also saddened by what has happened in recent years. It’s frustrating to watch how SunPower’s management, particularly over the past three years, has driven a 40-year company into the ground, with no accountability. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do now but learn from it and recognize that nothing lasts forever.

What remains are the invaluable relationships we have built through SunPower that will last a lifetime. The dealer conferences were some of the best times, providing opportunities to learn, share best practices, and have fun with colleagues. SunPower wasn’t just another module manufacturer; it was an elite club with the best solar installers from across the country. Yes, there were moments of frustration, but deep down, we all knew that SunPower offered the best product on the market—fundamentally different and superior.

Moving forward, we remain committed to serving all of our current SunPower customers, ensuring their investment stays secure. It's also important to note that Maxeon will continue to honor the module warranties and we look forward to our continued work with them.

In our office, there’s a sign that says, "Don’t look back; you’re not going that way." Still, it’s been meaningful to reflect on the positive memories we’ve created along this journey. Reading everyone’s SunPower posts have brought back so many memories and I look forward to new ones together.
