Highlights
Can you guess what sport draws the most audiences globally ?
The generally accepted answer is easy: ⚽️football, estimated to interest more than 40% of the world’s over 16s.
Now the harder question: ⁉️why is that, and why should you care?
My hypothesis as to ‘why’ lies in psychology: we measure the pleasure of an experience using the 🏔️peak-🏁end rule, only taking into account pleasure at its peak and at its end.
On both counts, nothing beats football:
- Intense spectacular moments when a team comes together to score, feats of team play and individual prowess !
- Last minute suspense where everything is still possible - in fact more goals are scored in the last 15 minutes than any other time….
And why should you care?
Well you can make everything a little bit more like football. Take special care of the peak and the ending.
Build peak-end products and customer experiences for example: find a way to ‘wow’ your customer beyond all expectations, and leave them on a high note.
Did you know about the peak end rule? Or are you one of these poor basketball fans 😇 ? More in the comments!
These used to be called ‘mansize’ !
They’re now just extra large, ‘big soft & strong’.
Tissues are like CEO, presidents, leaders, scientists.
They don’t come with a gender.
Good move Kleenex 😇
