Hannah Dreier's piece in  the The New York Times highlights widely documented  limitations of social audits in identifying child labor across the US. There are no “easy fixes” to address labor and social abuses across global supply chains. But these 3 elements will play a transformative role:

  • Build on existing and upcoming mandatory human rights due diligence to create a more global, unified and enforceable regime. The #EU recently reached a milestone on the #CS3D which provides a great framework to build upon
  • Strengthen companies leadership by rewarding and incentivizing systematic efforts to identify, prevent, remedy and report human rights impacts #UNGPs
  • Give a safe and systematic voice to workers and communities supporting global supply chains #workervoice
