It's unlikely that neural networks will replace people in creative professions, but there's no denying that it's a tremendously powerful tool that could change the gaming industry forever.
I'm not good at writing code, I'm mediocre at drawing and average at writing. But nevertheless, I decided to test whether one person with the help of a few neural friends can challenge entire teams of good professionals.
The Game Jam hosted by #Ubisoft turned out to be a marvelous occasion to test this.
After several days of hard work, my game managed to take the honorable 3rd place (out of twenty) and receive a special AI Excellence Award.
I used several neural networks - ChatGPT for texts, Microsoft Copilot for image creation, and Elevenlabs for speech synthesis.
The result was more than acceptable. Unfortunately, almost nothing could be used out-of-the-box, and everything had to be significantly modified, but nevertheless, these tools really allowed one person to compete with entire teams.
