Antonio Gomes

User Experience Researcher at Google

Antonio Gomes is a Senior User Experience Researcher at Google.2 He has significant experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) research.2 Prior to his current role, Gomes was a research intern with Microsoft's Applied Sciences Group (ASG) in 2014, where he focused on hardware development, actuated interfaces, data visualization, wearables, and sensor fusion.1

Gomes has a diverse educational background, including:

  • Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Communication and Multimedia Design from ISEC and ESEC respectively
  • A Dual Master's Degree in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and University of Madeira
  • A Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Queen's University1

In addition to his work at Google, Gomes has been an Assistant Professor at the Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal, since 2005.3 He has also been involved with Thalmic, a startup that was selected as one of the Top 25 Startups in Canada by LinkedIn.3

Outside of his professional life, Gomes enjoys building and flying FPV multi-rotor copters, practicing sports, traveling, and enjoying Asian cuisine.1
