This week I'm back in Liverpool, ten years on from delivering the International Festival of Business in 2014!

This week I'm here for the ELGRA (European Low Gravity Research Association) Conference, held jointly with SPAN, the Space Academic Network.

The Opening ceremony kicked off with the warmest welcome from Elgra President Phil Carvil, followed by opening remarks from SPAN Co-chair Kate Robson Brown.

My fave session today was about fungus growth in lunar and Martian regolith. Proper title:Fungal exposure to simulated microgravity on several artificial Martian and lunar regolith by Allen Matt Drews from KCL. Wild topic and an incredibly insightful presentation.

Special mention of this morning's proper scouse welcome by the wonderful Alan Cross, STFC, of the North West Space Cluster.

Looking forward to joining the panel session on Space Education - what next with Elisa Raffaella Ferre from Birkbeck, University of London at the helm.

The UK track of the Aqualunar Challenge will reward UK-led water purification innovations that will benefit both Earth and Space.
